In the name of preparing vehemently for this season. The Mikel Arteta's side have been looking for ways to strengthening their squad, for the Gunners to be able to perform amazingly and outstandingly this season, and perhaps be above their competitors in Europe top-5 league, especially Premier League.
As regards Arsenal's goalstopper, Emi Martinez who recently joined Aston Villa on a permanent deal. The Gunners have added a new goalkeeper to their squad, in replacement of Martinez, as they want the goalkeeper to be Leno substitute.
Officially, Arsenal have used their Twitter handle to announce the signing of Alex Runarsson from the Dijon, on a 4-year contract with the Gunners. The new Arsenal's goalstopper move to Emirates cost the Mikel Arteta's side a fee around €1.5m fee. And, the Iceland international would be substitute for Bernd Leno, perhaps play in FA Cup and other domestic cups in the league.
Obviously, it's indeed a good news for the Gunners side, because since Martinez departure to Aston Villa, the club is left with just Leno. And it's good and nice as Arsenal added a new goalkeeper to provide a fresh competition for the German international.
Alex Runarsson is one of the most reliable and consistent goalstopper in Ligue 1. And, statistically he has helped Dijon many ways since his arrival at the club. And, having added such a reliable and wonderful goalkeeper to the Gunners, it would make Arsenal have enough clean sheet this season, in the absence of Leno.
Bernd Leno is such a injury prone goalkeeper. Runarsson is able and capable to take the wheel of the goal post whenever the German goalstopper sustains injury. And, the Iceland international has the ability and capability to take Arsenal defense line to a new level.
Summarily, Arsenal have officially announced their third signing of the season, as they welcome and announce Alex Runarsson to Emirates from Dijon.
Arsenal's fans, are happy with this?
