He disclosed this on Tuesday for the duration of an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today amid the controversy trailing the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), a policy that has been faulted by means of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

“I suppose it's miles a lie to say the authorities has not paid them in 8 months. It might be unfair to the government and wouldn’t be necessary to carry that sort of argument because a few humans may have extraordinary degrees,” he stated.

“Some humans even were given salaries that were no longer good enough. Some humans over were given and needed to refund. There have been such a lot of problems with it.”

When requested when the college lecturers would name off their strike and return returned to their school rooms, the minister in no way gave a particular date.

He rather stated there's no condition preventing the lecturers from returning back to their obligation posts.

“The academics can be lower back within the school room the following day if they are saying they want to head back. There is not anything withholding the teachers from into the lecture room day after today.

“Everything that the authorities needs to do is performed. If you want your salaries, get on the platform and accumulate your salaries,” he delivered.

ASUU had on March 23 declared an indefinite strike over some unresolved issues with the Federal Government, drastically the non-compliance of the 2009 agreement.

ASUU President, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi who made the statement stated that the motion have become essential following the Federal Government’s refusal to deal with issues raised in its 2019 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as well as its objection to joining the Integrated Pay Roll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

Also, at some point of his interview with Channels Television on October 29, Ogunyemi insisted that there may be no going returned at the union’s position on the IPPIS, stressing that it changed into wrong to use the payment platform for university academics.

He blamed this for the alleged irregularities in the payment of salaries and allowances of lecturers, stressing that a few teachers received very bad remuneration in a few cases
