All is already not too well between the Governor-elect of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi Danmodi and the outgoing Governor, Muhammad Abubakar Badaru.
Badaru is being accused of allegedly holding on to power by pushing for the appointment of his men into key positions in the incoming government.
DAILY POST gathered that some loyalists of the Governor-elect were arrested on Wednesday on the account of a radio programme where they accused Badaru of allegedly trying to have full control of the incoming Government.
Those arrested, according to the report, were the former Jigawa State All Progressives Congress, APC, chairman, Alhaji Habibu Sani Sara and one other loyalist of the Governor-Elect.
Our correspondent sent a text message to the personal number of Governor Badaru enquiring on the reports that he was allegedly in squabble with his successor, but he was yet to respond.
Similarly, several calls to the phone number of the Governor-elect, Umar Namadi Danmodi were not answered.
However, reports had it that Danmodi’s henchmen met late Wednesday night at one of the hotels in Kano, discussing the matter and how to tackle it.
It was also gathered that the Transition Committee set up by the Governor-elect is inactive owing to alleged refusal of the outgoing government to fully cooperate with it.
