The way things are going, 2019 election is going to be a tough one.
Nigeria is about to experience real political game with politicians making serious moves to secure a political office come 2019. It’s going to be survival of the smartest.
As ruling party, there is no doubt that APC is at great advantage to win the election. With Buhari as President, they are in control of armed forces and agencies that are meant to make the election hitch-free. It’s called power of the incumbent.
Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party are hungry to snatch back the power from ruling APC but are obviously faced with the difficulty of choosing a worthy candidate, credible enough to challenge Buhari’s APC in 2019.
In the aftermath of Senate President Bukola Saraki’s exit from the ruling party, All Progressive Congress to PeoplesDemocratic Party, the number of PDP’s potential candidate has increased by one.
But which politician under PDP can really give Buhari a run in 2019?
As it stands now, below are the PDP’s possible options:-
Atiku Abubakar
It is no longer news that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar is so much interested in the Presidential seat in 2019 but he’s got to fight for the ticket within his party.
Rabiu Kwankwaso
The former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso has defected to PDP with his eye on the presidential ticket. Following his political antecedents and his performance in Kano as Governor, Kwankwaso is another good option for PDP.
Aminu Tambuwal
Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal who just dumped APC will be seeking to continue is political ambition with PDP. He has also been referred to as one of the strong options PDP has to challenge Buhari in 2019.
Bukola Saraki
Following his defection to PDP yesterday from APC, there are speculations that Senate President Bukola Saraki could challenge Atiku to contest for PDP’s presidential ticket.
