Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has insisted that he is “very happy” at the club, amid renewed speculations over a summer move to Real Madrid.
The Spain international was on the brink of signing for the La Liga giants in 2015, but the transfer collapsed at the last minute.
The 26-year-old returned to Old Trafford and signed a new contract that will run out in 2019.
Madrid are reportedly still following De Gea and are keen to land him at the end of this season.
“The future, no one knows,” De Gea told AS.
“The future is the future. I’m very happy here — it’s a great club. In England, football is much enjoyed.”
Asked about the potential of a summer move to Madrid, he said: “I will not talk about that. I will not talk about it anymore. Now we need to stay focused with my club.”
However, Madrid president, Florentino Perez, insisted on Thursday that they were happy with their current No. 1.
“We won’t work on transfers until the end of the season,” he told reporters.
“We are delighted with Keylor Navas.”
