Erstwhile Super Eagles gaffer Samson
Siasia has explained that he has submitted an application for the vacant
coaching job of top South African club-side Orlando Pirates.
Since steering Nigeria's Under 23 side to
the 2016 Rio Olympics games held in Brazil where they won a bronze
medal, Siasia has been out of work, and he has now stated his intention
to be the next manager of the Pirates.
“We’re
talking, we have been in discussions for the past two weeks and I have
already sent them my resume and we will see how it goes.
“My agent will contact me as soon as something comes up. It’s about time I get another job,” the 49-year-old explained.
Meanwhile,
aside the Orlando Pirates coaching job, Siasia was also said to be
interested in becoming the next coach of the Bafana Bafana of South
Africa.
South
Africa national senior men football team have been without a coach
since December 2016 when former handler Shakes Ephraim was thrown out.
