Super Eagles coach Shuaibu Amodu has spoken about his surprise at being named interim coach of Nigeria’s national team.
Amodu, who was appointed temporary successor to his former assistant, Stephen Keshi, on October 15, has now been mandated to guide Nigeria to a place at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).
Amodu has now confessed that the announcement of his appointment came as a surprise as he never expected to be named coach of the reigning African champions.
“I was actually very surprised to be named Super Eagles coach again. I was honestly not expecting it and I want to thank those that be employed me for the honour,” Amodu told Flavourway.com.
