Obiano’s Wife, Ebelechukwu Kneels Down As Onitsha Traders Pray For Her

Ebelechukwu Obiano, wife of the former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano was seriously humiliated at Onitsha main market, Anambra state when she came there to canvass for their votes for the upcoming elections on February 25th

Mrs Obiano is the APGA Senatorial candidate for Anambra North Senatorial zone, a position her husband arm twisted his hand picked party officials to concede to her by stage managed sham primary elections, and which caused a great uproar by party members who were still reeling from her highhanded and callous attitude during her husband’s tenure as governor.

She stormed the market, shunning her usual flamboyant dressing, with a plain head tie and scapula on her neck, and brought her husband along with her possibly in an attempt to convince the voters but this backfired as the traders who converged at the market square to listen to her pleas for votes forced her to kneel down and pray to God to forgive her for all the vile acts she had committed against them when her husband held sway as governor of the state and to raise her hands in undertaking to turn a new leaf if her request is granted.

This was even as chants of ‘Obi! Obi ! obi!’, rent the air, a direct message that the traders were not interested in voting for any candidate other than the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi, whom the Obiano’s are vehemently campaigning against.

Mrs Obiano had imposed her younger brother, against the wishes of the market traders, as Chairman of all the markets in the state, and he subjected the traders to heavy levies whilst making the ‘returns’ to his sister, Ebelechukwu Obiano.

The traders lamented that the only thing they gained from her despite her monthly collections running into billions of naira in her husband’s 8 year tenure was a row of 6 toilets.

Ebelechukwu Obiano is most readily remembered as the first Governor’s wife in the history of Nigeria to have received a ‘Farewell Dirty Slap’ on the day of her husband’s handover.
