Egbesu High Priest, Apostle Bodmas Prince Kemepadei today said the pipeline surveillance job has been under the supervision of the Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM. Ogiame Atuwatse III and his late father-in-law, for the past seven years.
He disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to DAILY POST.
He said the pipeline surveillance contract was kept as a personal secret by the revered monarch.
He noted that this resulted in huge oil theft and pipeline vandalism, which led the Federal Government to revisit the contract and allocated some fractions to others owing to lack of capability.
Reacting to comments purportedly credited to one Edema Oritsetimeyin, he warned him to refrain from defaming the characters of ex-militant leader, High Chief Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo.
He described his comments on Tompolo in some national dailies as petty and misleading.
Apostle Kemepadei advised Oritsetimeyin to employ new strategies and encourage the palace to be benevolent enough like Tompolo and use the benefits associated with his throne to touch lives of teeming Itsekiri people.
He also urged that, “Lastly, all companies handling the surveillance job to emulate the kind gestures of High Chief Oweizide Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo and extend their hands to youths, women and leaders of the Niger Delta region.
“More importantly, the Olu should inculcate members of his cabinet and his subjects, ensuring they are fully carried along as well.”
