There is no scientific tool to measure the inhumanity of humans except comparing them to each other. Gang violence is one of the most talked about issues all around the world and here we uncover some of the most dangerous gangs nobody even dares to mess with.
In Cape Town, the two largest gangs are The Americans and the Hard Livings, which function as umbrella organisations for many smaller gangs that are allied with the two super gangs.
The Hard Livings
The Hard Livings are often regarded as Cape Town's second largest gang, behind the Americans. Rashied and Rashaad Staggie, twin brothers, started the gang in the Manenberg district in 1971, and as their criminal activity flourished, tensions increased among the residents of that area. In 1996, a vigilante group's public burning of Rashied Staggie was the final straw.
Despite suffering a setback in their leadership with Staggie's passing, the gang has continued to traffic in illegal substances and has even formed alliances with other criminal organizations, such as the Sicilian mafia and the Chinese triads.
The Americans
Apartheid is the direct cause of the United States' existence. The name of the gang alludes to the marginalization of its members, who identify more closely with Black Americans than with Black Africans.
The members wear red, white, and blue and sport "U.S.A." or other patriotic tattoos on their arms. The Americans have violently taken over the meth trade in Cape Town, making them the largest gang in the city.
When you enlist with the Americans, you swear an oath of profound solemnity, promising that from that day forward, you will always be ready to die.
The Numbers Gang
The Numbers Gang is one of the oldest organized criminal syndicates in the United States, having formed in the late 1800s. The origin of the organization is, like so many others, a labor conflict in the mines. Reports describe a heated confrontation between two guys over the topic of terrible working conditions. The war's eventual result was the formation of Numbers Gang, a criminal organization with a visible presence in prisons across South Africa.
This South African underworld bosses group runs under three specialty, divides as described in the upcoming segment.
26 Gang - The 26s majorly execute robbery operations as well as smuggles supplies into prisons.
27 Gang - The group is the stem operator in its parent organization. Interested members must accomplish an execution mission on a warden or a guard by stabbing.
28 Gang - The group remains top in the list of Numbers Gang subgroups. 28 gangsters Cape Town operators execute sexual offenses which include assaulting other male inmates to gain membership.
The Sexy Boys Gang
The vicious Chestnut Place gang of Cape Town has subsequently expanded its reach throughout the country. The Sexy Boys are notorious local cabbies and drug dealers who run a racket in the area. Despite its humorous moniker, the organization is violent and deadly. There was a major crackdown on the group in Cape Town at the turn of the millennium, which resulted in the arrest of the organisation's leaders. Its subsequent revival as a criminal organization has made it one of the most threatening in Cape Town.
