Ghana national team defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria on an away goal rules on Tuesday night, after they forced them to play a 1-1 draw at MKO Abiola Sports Stadium in Abuja.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a goalless draw in the first leg of the playoff last week Friday, but they were able to score in Nigeria.
Coach Austin Eguavoen made five changes to the squad that played out a goalless draw in the first leg, as he benched the likes of Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Zaidu Sanusi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Innocent Bonke, and he replaced them with Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, Emmanuel Dennis Bonaventure, Oghenekaro Etebo and Frank Onyeka.
Coach Austin Eguavoen made some errors against Ghana national team, and that means they won't be playing in the upcoming FIFA world cup in Qatar.
Here are the three errors Austin Eguavoen made in Super Eagles' 1-1 draw against the Black stars of Ghana;
Giving Calvin Bassey a starting role
The first error Eguavoen made is starting Calvin Bassey who is not experience enough in the crucial game. The former Leicester City football club star was not impressive against the Black stars of Ghana, and he was unable to deliver great crosses in the game.
Dropping Zaidu Sanusi to the bench for the entire duration of the game
The FC Porto star has been superb for both club and country since the beginning of the season, but he was dropped to the bench for the entire duration of the game.
The former Santa Clara FC defender supposed to have been introduced to the pitch in the early minutes of the second half.
Failure to introduce Sadiq Umar to the pitch in the early minutes of the second half
The Almeria football club star was unable to play in the last game, but he was exceptional after being introduced to the pitch towards the end of the game. The former AS Roma football club star would have helped the Super Eagles to claim a victory if he was given a starting role by coach Austin Eguavoen.
