There is no country that doesn't have good and bad people. Therefore, you don't condemn everyone because of one man's mistake. Nigeria has a lot of good and great politicians who have not only contributed to the development of the country, but are trying hard to make the country a developed one. The country has provided good Politicans, which a lot of us can testify to. Some of these good Politicans have done well by helping to the develop country.

So in this article, I will be talking about some of the best governors in the eastern part of Nigeria, who have contributed immersely to the development of the country. These politicians are loved by many who regard them as the best due to the great things they have done. Here the East consist of five states, which are Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi.

Below are these best governors in the eastern part of Nigeria.

1. Peter Obi

Peter Obi who is regarded as one of the best governor in Anambra state, came in power on 9 February 2007. He ruled Anambra for eight good years. The governor is regarded as one of the best due the great things he did in Anambra state. The Manager of St. Kizito Secondary School, Umudioka, Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Nonso Okoye, had described the immediate past Governor of the state, Mr. Peter Obi, as the best Governor since the state was created.

 

 

In the cleric’s words, “Mr. Peter Obi has remained my best Governor since the inception of Anambra State.

A lot of people also said good about the governor. It is also clear that when Obi was the Governor of Anambra state, he touched every nook and cranny of the state. In the health sector, he did wonders in the state. In the area of road construction, he made Anambra to be a state with the best network of roads. He remains one of the Governor in Anambra State that did not leave debts and arrears of salaries at the time he handed over. In the area of education, he also did well.

2. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi

Lawrence Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi popularly known as Gburugburu is a Nigerian politician who was elected as the Executive Governor of Enugu State in April 2015, and was sworn on 29 May 2015. These governor is said to have done a lot of great things in Enugu state.

 

 

Beyond the economic recession that shadowed his assumption of office in May 29, 2015, substantial infrastructure and human development deficits on the ground and sundry political cracks, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has deployed notable vision, inclusive and empathetic governance footings to shape a new state, five years on. 3. Sam Mbakwe

 

Chief Mbakwe, was a lawyer who was elected as Governor of the old Imo State under the platform of the defunct Nigeria Peoples Party (NPP). The governor really did a lot during his time.

 

 

Chief Mbakwe is regarded as the best Governor ever to rule a state as populated as old Imo. He established heavy infrastructural development across the major cities that made up the then Imo State and also constructed the best roads in the state. He was and is still the best governor in Imo state.

4. Okezie Ikpeazu

Okezie Ikpeazu is regarded as one of the best governor in Abia state. The state is said to have witnessed peace and security since 2015.

 

 

This is to say that their governor, Okezie Ikpeazu is really doing well to help shape the state. It is said that a lot of criminal activities, especially bank robbery that was going on in the state has reduced since he became governor. Ikpeazu is known to be someone who believes so much in peaceful coexistence.

5. David Umahi

This Ebonyi state governor is known to be one of the best governor in Ebonyi state. The Ebonyi State Governor, has really helped in the development of the state. It has been said that hisemergence as the 3rd executive Governor of Ebonyi State brought a quantum leap to all the sectors of Ebonyi state to wit: Infrastructure, Education, Health, Agriculture and many more The governor helped in the construction of good roads in Ebonyi state.

 

 

 

His reign really changed Ebonyi state. Governor Umahi also installed streetlight in all the roads and Streets of Abakaliki. The governor, Chief David Nweze Umahi won the award of the best performing governor of the year 2019 by Business Day Media. He really deserved it. Due to the great things he has done in the state, he is regarded as one of the best governor in Ebonyi state.
