A report by SaharaReporters has shown that the Local Government Education Authority School in the Ayeke community, Ibaji Local Government Area of Kogi State, is presently dilapidated and pupils now learn under the trees.

According to SaharaReporters, it was learnt that the LEA School is in Ayeke, the hometown of the Kogi State Commissioner for Agriculture, David Apeh, but his influence is not felt in the community.

The classrooms' roofing sheets are off due to the impact of weather, and the pupils are left at the mercy of the scorching sun – a situation which gradually forced them to make use of the trees in the compound.

Due to the LEA School's sorry state, many mother and father had withdrawn their youngsters from the faculty, but a great variety of students whose parents had no alternative nevertheless attend – with the college common population around 50 students.

SaharaReporters received snap shots of the faculty on Thursday in which scholars sit on wooden benches under the tree to analyze.


"This has been the scenario in this school," a figure lamented.


 "Most folks have withdrawn our children from LEA faculty. If this happens inside the dry season, consider what's going to befall the school inside the rainy season. Which of those politicians can send his children to this sort of school? Speaking with SaharaReporters, the Ibaji Progressive Youth Foundation President, one of the important companies representing the groups, Apeh Kelvin, stated that the school needed urgent authorities's interest.

"This is so unfortunate. The students are mastering below this sorry condition in the village of Honourable David Apeh. Ayeke is one of the ten wards in the Ibaji Local Government Area. The officer in rate of school monitoring in the Ibaji LGA, Michael Edeche, is likewise from Ayeke. We are calling for the government's guide," the president stated.

The Ibaji foundation National Public Relations Officer, Ojodomo Unekwu, said that the college wished help so as no longer to deprive the teeming schoolchildren of their right to excellent training.
