Suleiman Muhammad, the more youthful brother of Abubakar Muhammad, a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) officer who was killed in an ambush on February 15, 2021, has spoken on his decision to marry the deceased’s fiancé, Hajara Ahmad.
Daily Trust reviews that the overdue NAF officer died alongside the Birnin Gwari road in Kaduna State, three weeks to his wedding.
The wedding, which held in Kaduna on Saturday, had the consent of each the bride and groom’s family.
It has attracted plenty of attention as a few people questioned how he may want to marry his elder brother’s finance one month after his death.
But in a verbal exchange with our correspondent, Suleiman said he fell in love along with his new bride and they got along as if they'd known each different for many years.
The bride
According to him, “After my elder brother’s dying, both households have been devastated specially due to the fact Abubakar and Hajara where to get married in three weeks. So, our families, with the wise recommend of my mother, decided to hook us up.
“I am a person who does anything my mom says as long as it does not go towards Allah, so whilst she approached me with this idea, I agreed and hoped Hajara too will agree. She agreed and today everything is records as we were joined as man and wife. I love her like I even have regarded her for years,” he said.
Suleiman referred to that even though he has a girlfriend, who's presently in secondary school, his marriage is an act of destiny.
“I never idea of getting married at this time due to the fact my lady remains in secondary faculty and I do no longer think she might be prepared for marriage in the subsequent 5 years.”
Azumi Muhammad, Abubakar’s mother, defined the deceased as type-hearted, recalling their ultimate second in January.
