Timi Dakolo (born; January 20, 1981) is a Nigerian singer. He emerged winner of the inaugural season of Idols West Africa in 2007. Accompanying his victory was a recording contract with Sony BMG, in addition to other prizes.
Timi Dakolo was brought into the world in Accra, Ghana to a Nigerian dad, Bayelsa-local David and a Ghanaian mother, Norah, who kicked the bucket when Dakolo was thirteen years of age. Notwithstanding being brought into the world in Ghana, Timi has a Nigerian visa and doesn't guarantee double citizenship. He was brought up in Port Harcourt by his grandma Ateni Dakolo and his auntie Susan Larry, and he acknowledges his auntie as his initial singing instructor. So profound was their relationship that Timi declined a proposal to move to Lagos with his folks, selecting to remain back in Port-harcourt with them.
Timi began singing in chapel at twelve years old. In 2003, he joined the singing gathering Purple Love as an establishing part. They ruled the Port Harcourt club circuit, yet disbanded in 2005 as the entirety of its individuals had acquired induction into the University of Port Harcourt. Individual life
Timi Dakolo wedded Busola Dakolo[8] (née Amupitan) in 2012.[9] They have three children.[10] He was destined to a Nigerian Father (Bayelsa conceived) and Ghanaian Mother.
