Nigerian Police Insist On Investigating Abudu-Balogun Despite Victim Withdrawing Case

 

Police in Ogun have said they would continue with examination concerning the lewd behavior claims against the Commissioner for Environment Abiodun Abudu-Balogun. 

Ogun police representative Abimbola Oyeyemi uncovered that the Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun had requested that the case be moved to the Criminal Investigation Department at the Police central command in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital, Igbere TV reports. 

Oyeyemi said in spite of that the casualty's family had formally removed the body of evidence against the official, the order would proceed with the case. 

He stated, "The dad of the casualty has no loco representing him to tell the police that he's done squeezing charges against the Commissioner since he isn't our complainant. 

"He isn't the individual that was straightforwardly engaged with the case. The casualty is his little girl and even the girl herself can't pull out the case since she is underage. 

"Also, the body of evidence is an offense submitted against the state, so they are no longer complainants, it is the Commissioner of Police versus the suspect (Abudu-Balogun). 

"They are simply observers for the situation. So the police are going on with examinations to affirm the realness of the cases. 

"The CP has coordinated that the case ought to be moved to the State CID for legitimate examinations, so their position is irrelevant." 

The police representative guaranteed that the case would be prosecuted once the police affirm the episode really occurred.
