The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it had made the introduction of a substantial National Identification Number (NIN) mandatory for all classifications of vehicle enlistment.
Aide Corps Marshal (ACM), Bisi Kazeem, Corps Public Education Officer, revealed this in an assertion on Saturday, in Abuja.
FRSC had initiated consistence on this order since December 21, 2020, when the Corps Marshal commanded that all candidates for the National Driver's License should introduce their NIN, prior to being caught for any class of permit.
Kazeem said that this was in full consistence with the mandates of the Federal Government on the harmonization of residents' information.
"The FRSC Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has likewise made arrangement of NIN compulsory for all classifications of Vehicle enrollment, viable from the second quarter of 2021. This is in absolute consistence with the Presidential orders.
"All candidates of vehicle enlistment are, along these lines, expected to introduce their NIN as a precondition for the enrollment of their vehicles.
Kazeem focused on the requirement for individuals from people in general, who had not selected the continuous NIN enlistment, to rush and do the needful in light of the fact that the Corps had ordered that no vehicle would be enrolled whose proprietor was not caught in the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) information base.
"Starting from the second quarter of this current year 2021, If you need to enroll your vehicle, it will be necessary for you to give your NIN.
" This is essential for the security checks. Thus, when you give your NIN, it makes the issue simpler and helps the public authority in public arranging.
