Erling Haaland was active in the German Bundesliga today as he made an appearance for Borussia Dortmund in the derby fixture against Borussia Monchengladbach at the Borussia Park.
He scored a brace in the fixture but it wasn't enough to help Borussia Dortmund secure a win as they lost 4-2 to Monchengladbach.
The hosts took an early lead in the 11th minute of the fixture as Nico Elvedi got on the scoresheet to make it 1-0 for his side.
Erling Haaland scored the equaliser in the 11th minute as he made use of a nice pass from Jadon Sancho to find the back of the back of net with an excellent lob shot to make it level at 1-1 in the 22nd minute.
He struck again in the 28th minute as he scored from close range to give Borussia Dortmund the 2-1 lead before Nico Elvedi scored in the 32nd minute to bring the scoreline to 2-2 at half time.
Ramy Bensebaini restored Monchengladbach's lead at the start of the second half as he scored in the 49th minute to make it 3-2 for his side.
Marcus Thuram sealed the match win for Borussia Monchengladbach as he scored in the 78th minute to make it 4-2 at full time.
After Erling Haaland scored a brace today, he has risen up in the European top scorers rankings as he overtook Zlatan Ibrahimovic & Mohamed Salah to move to the 7th spot on the list with 14 Bundesliga goals this season.
