Lagos state police order today Saturday, January 9 paraded 237 clubgoers who were arrested for abusing COVID19 conventions.
The clubgoers were captured on Friday Night January 8 and Saturday, January 9 in the Surulere and Victoria Island hub of the state .
The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, while marching them, said
"In continuation of the promise and responsibility of the order to uphold COVID-19 requests and conventions , the order has not yielded on its paddles in ensuring that there is complete consistence with Coronavirus orders with the end goal of diminishing or ending the spread of the pandemic.
On Friday, eighth January, 2021, during a night activity, that was composed and instructed by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, the Command jumped on some freak night clubs where 200 and 37 (237) violators were captured. The clubs attacked included Lounge 38, Bode Thomas Surulere (85 suspects) and Club Victoria's, VI, (152 suspects) while six (6) were captured for disregarding the Federal Government forced 12 PM to 4am check in time in the state .
Altogether, Two hundred and 43 (243) violators were captured and are being strutted today.
The Command wishes to emphasize its enthusiasm and obligation to due and add up to implementation of COVID-19 conventions and requests including the Federal Government 12 PM to 4am time limit, in Lagos State as cops and men, with the assistance of other security organizations, will follow and capture any violators, regardless of how exceptionally positioned, and cause them to confront the full fury of the law. ''
Odumosu said they will be charged to court soon.
