The governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade, has requested that the names of shortlisted applicants for the 20,000 jobs be made available at the office of the deputy governor, Prof. Ivara Esu on Friday, November 13, 2020.
This was made known on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in a press statement signed by Mr. Christian Ita, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity.
According to the press release with reference number,
Our Ref: Go/Press/012/Vol.I/228, the shortlisted names should first be sent to the Ministry of Local Government Affairs before the office of the deputy governor.
“Following His Excellency, Sir Ben Ayade’s promise to employ 20,000 young Cross Riverians and his subsequent directive to chairmen of the 18 local government areas in the state to engage 1,000 indigenes of their councils, notice is hereby given for the shortlisted names to be forwarded to the office of the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs for onward submission to the office of His Excellency, the deputy governor on Friday, November 13th , 2020.
“Council chairmen are therefore, requested to forward the list from their councils not later than Friday, November 13th, 2020.
“Beneficiaries of the employment scheme will be deployed to the poultry, rice value-chain and the security sub-sectors”, the statement read.
For the 20,000 workers, 18,000 will be employed the 18 local government councils, while the remaining 2,000 will be employed by the state government.
