Policeman Killed As #EndSARS Protest Turns Violent In Ughelli Delta State

 

Pressure on Thursday wrapped the Otovwodo pivot of Ughelli, base camp of Ughelli North nearby government region of Delta State as a cop was killed following the dissent that shook the town in the wake of the #ENDSARS Protest. 

The episode likewise prompted the demolition of a few vehicles as suburbanites along the East-West street hub of Otovwodo intersection hurried for security following the arrangement of discharges that resulted while the skirmish kept going. 

The dissidents had started their dissent from the Otovwodo intersection hub of Ughelli and walked through Isoko street to the market street while boycotting the Ughelli 'A' division police headquarters to Ekuigbo and back to Otovwodo intersection. 

Fighting in a caravan of many outlandish vehicles in the organization of some female dissenters, one of the heads of the nonconformists who distinguished himself as Ochuko, said they had chosen to blacklist the police headquarters in an offer to hinder a conflict with police officers at the station. 

It was assembled that a portion of the nonconformists who were evidently upset, had met a group of police officers at Otovwodo intersection were the dissent walk should end and a conflict followed prompting irregular gunfire with the police bringing same back. 

An onlooker at the area of the episode revealed to Vanguard that after locating the cops, the nonconformists started shooting prompting the passing of a cop while the others fled. 

In spite of the fact that endeavors to talk with the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onowakpoyeya were unproductive as at the hour of this report, the source who talked on state of secrecy, stated: "A few vehicles were harmed following the mayhem that resulted as the dissenters started shooting at the police group prompting the demise of a police corporal.
