Twins as its commonly known is a blessing, and many expectants mothers always pray and desire to have such a blessing. Well, it is sad I mean very sad to carry a baby for 9 months, and the very day of delivery you discovered the babies are conjoined.
According to scientists, conjoined twins can develop when an early embryo separates to form two individuals. Although two fetuses will develop from this embryo, they will remain physically attached.
However, according to research, conjoined twins are developed when an embryo separates into two individual. Well, the question of why does such thing happen, as been such a hard shell for scientists to crack.
In few cases of such, it often occurs at the chest, abdomen or pelvis. These twins also share one or two internal organs. However, various attempts to separate such babies have yielded fruits, whereas, other has failed.
There have been instances where conjoined twins have been separated and living a normal life. By statistics, conjoined twins have rare chances of survival. Only a few survive beyond the first day. Scientists opt to separate such individuals.
