If there is any team poised to lift the 2018/19 Champions League cup, it is Barcelona.
Not only are they capable of winning Europe’s top honour, they could even go as far as winning the La Liga and Copa Del Rey; scooping a treble if they continue showing such excellent form.

1. History favours them
The Catalan giants are the only club to have scooped all titles in a single year.
La Blaugrana is also the only club to have won the treble on two different occasions.
While under current Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola back in 2009, the La Liga giants managed to scoop six trophies.
And more recently, they won five titles under Luis Enrique in 2015.
2. THE LIONEL MESSI EFFECT
Lionel Messi inspires and produces impressive results for Barcelona.
The play-maker has had a superb start to his season despite picking up an injury.
He injects Barcelona with that extra genius factor that takes a team from average to world class.
3. SQUAD DEPTH
With or Without Messi, Barcelona have enough star players to make them arguably the most spectacular assembly.
Barcelona have Ousmane Dembele, Luis Suarez, Arturo Vidal, Philipe Coutinho; among other big names at their disposal.
And they have shown they can hold their weight against the best without Messi.

Loosing Xavier Hernandez and Andre Iniesta has clearly not dented the Catalan’s midfield.
Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic have perfected their art and mastered the Barcelona tiki-taka system.
At the same time, new boy, Arthur Melo has established himself as a dominant force in the midfield ever since joining in the summer.
5. 100 PERCENT START IN ALL COMPETITIONS
Erneste Valverde’s men have shown they have what it takes to compete in both domestic and continental leagues.
They top La Liga standings with three points and were the first club to qualify for the next stage of the Champions league.
They amassed 10 points from four games and top Group B.
Barcelona also began their Copa Del Rey venture on a winning note, registering a 1-0 victory over third tire side, Cultural Leonesa.
Regardless, the Catalans still have a journey to go and will surely meet and have to defeat elite teams like Manchester City and Juventus – who are certainly no pushovers.
