A man and his lover have been found stone dead inside a S' African graveyard, sparking serious commotion in the area.
An angry South African man recently turned up at his lover’s workplace
and he grabbed her, fired shots in the air and dragged her to his car at
gunpoint before speeding off.
According to Daily Sun SA, police officers immediately began a manhunt, hoping to save the woman’s life, but they turned up empty-handed after the first day’s search.
The next morning they did not have to go far, because the woman and her lover were both found dead – in a nearby cemetery!
The tragedy happened on Thursday in the Vaal, south of Joburg.
Sebokeng police spokesman Captain Teboho Lephoto said the incident started at the Usave store in Sebokeng zone 17, where the woman worked.
Witnesses said that the man showed up there and fired shots while he was dragging the woman to his car at gunpoint.
Police were alerted and a task team searched through the evening and into the night, but they suspended the search until the next day. Meanwhile, cemetery staff in Vanderbijlpark arrived at the graveyard on Friday morning and spotted a car parked under a tree.
One of the cemetery staffers said he was shocked when he saw a car in the graveyard that early.
“I knew something was wrong,” said the worker.
At first cemetery workers thought the car might have been stolen – until he looked inside it.
“I peeped through the window and I saw two dead people,” the man said. “That is when I called the cops.”
Vanderbijlpark police alerted the Sebokeng cop shop.
Lephoto said: “Police and pathologists have attended the scene.”
Cases of kidnapping and murder were opened, as well as an inquest.
“We do not know who shot who at this moment. Both had gunshot wounds,” he said.
