A 67-year-old man Edwin Ekong was spotted among the mammoth crowd participating in the 2017 edition of the Lagos City marathon.
According him, his personal purpose of participating in the race is not ultimately for the prize gift, but a personal desire.

In the words of the medical doctor, “Marathoning is the triumph of desire over reason. So this is the triumph of my desire."
Winner of this year’s event will
take home $50,000 while the first and second runner up will bag $40,000
and $30,000 respectively.
