Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus
devices will arrive to Verizon customers on time, but only if they
pre-ordered their smartphones on September 12.
Recent reports suggested that delays were expected for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint Wireless customers after the iPhone 6 Plus set pre-order records within 24 hours of their release.
Within 12 hours Verizon’s own website claimed that iPhone 6 Plus customers would face delays of two to four weeks when seeking out the 64GB version of the Plus model.
However, an insider at MacRumors is now claiming that a Verizon notice sent to early-birds says the devices are already in shipping transit and will arrive on September 19 as originally promised.
During the company’s press conference, Tim Cook seemed pretty
confident that pre-order customers would receive their devices on-time,
although he didn’t state which devices would arrive on-time. Apple is
offering the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models,
with three different color schemes also available. That means Apple is
fulfilling orders for 18 different versions of the incredibly popular
iPhone 6 models.
MacRumors also claims that FedEx will be handling the deliveries with 80 percent arriving on September 19, while the remaining smartphones will be handed over to customers on September 20.
We have no word on AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint Wireless customer devices at this time, and the amount of time for other delays has not been revealed. What is known is that Apple continues to experience a very high volume of new orders which will likely require some type of delay.
The Apple iPhone 6 starts at $199 with a two-year contract and increases based on memory and display size.
While rumors continue to circulate about ship times, we won’t know for certain if customers are all receiving their devices as promised until September 19.
Verizon Wireless officials have not yet confirmed the rumored shipping date for the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
