Take up exercise: Studies show that people suffering from high blood pressure, can reduce their blood pressure considerably with exercise. So if you are not active, take up an exercise that you enjoy and within a few week, you will notice a difference in blood pressure levels.
Eat Healthy: If you eat a diet high in fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, grains, seeds, legumes and low-fat dairy products, you will be able to lower your blood pressure levels. So, cut out the junk food slowly and introduce healthy versions of your favourite foods, so it won’t seem like a diet, but more like a lifestyle change.
Keep a food diary: Writing down what you eat, can help you monitor what you eat, how much you eat and what triggers your response to a particular food. This will make you more aware of triggers and prevent you from overeating junk food.
Include more potassium: Studies show that potassium rich foods can lessen the effects of sodium on blood pressure. So consult with your doctor and include a wide variety of potassium rich foods in your diet.
