Chelsea Set to Welcome 28-year-old Goalkeeper as their Eight Signing of the Season

The Frank Lampard's side are set to welcome their eight signing of the season, in preparation for this season for them to be above their competitors, and mainly to perform amazingly and outstandingly in Europe top-5 league.

Obviously, Chelsea have goalkeeper problem, as Kepa Arrizabalaga fails to improve and impress the Blues honcho, despite the fact that the club have decided to give him another chance to showcase his skills and abilities. So, Chelsea are about to welcome a new goalkeeper as the Spaniard replacement, in this new season.

Chelsea are seriously linked with many goalkeepers, as they are looking for the ideal goalstopper to secure their goal spot this season. The likes of Onana, Oblak, Pope and the rest are linked with a move to Stamford Bridge. But, the Blues have already chosen their favorite to replace Kepa.

According to Simon Phillips, Chelsea and Rennes have agreed a £25m fee plus bonuses, to sign Edouard Mendy from Rennes. As, the Blues see him as a perfect replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga. In other words, Chelsea are set to welcome a new goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy as their eight signing of the season, having reached agreement with Rennes.

Edouard Mendy is an ideal goalstopper to transform, and bag many clean sheets for Chelsea this season, he was recommended by Peter Cech, and the Blues legend believes and trust so much in skills and abilities. Peter Cech is the man main driving Mendy move to Stamford Bridge. As, he sees the Rennes goalstopper as the perfect for Chelsea this season.

Mendy is such a huge upgrade of Kepa Arrizabalaga, as the Rennes goalkeeper has the 2nd most best save percentage in Ligue 1 since 2018, he has 73.5% saving, which is way better and good than Kepa having 60.6% and David De Gea having 69.9%. He's tall, good at area balls and his serving of ball is very amazing.

Edouard Mendy is just 28 years old, meaning he still has many years to improve himself. And, he's been seen to breakthrough at Chelsea, followed by his performance at Rennes for the past 3 years.
